The History of Rock Paper Scissors
Rock Paper Scissors (also known as Roshambo) originated in China during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD). The game spread to Japan where it became known as "jan-ken" and eventually made its way to the Western world in the 20th century.
Today, RPS is used worldwide for making decisions, settling disputes, and even competitive tournaments! The World RPS Society has organized championships since 2002.
